Isn't she big

Well, after much delay, we finally made it into the floating drydock. It was a very interesting experience to be onboard for and a remarkable feat of engineering to see such a large ship be lifted right out of the water in such a short space of time.

I would love to write more about it (I'd need to swat up first as how it all works stretches me too), but for now I will just give our first impressions of seeing the ship up and out of the water: BIG.

As I write we have been up out of the water for 6 days and much has happened; most of the antifouling paint has been removed, the anchors have been dropped, the sacrificial anodes are rapidly coming off. The next stage will soon be to start putting things back together again and smarten her up for another five years of service.
