Today we had our passports stamped to officially enter Spain, tomorrow we will sign off the ship's articles and say our final goodbyes as we begin our journeys home.
We have already said goodbye to Sierra Leone and tomorrow it will be the very beautiful city of Cadiz. Tomorrow we will say goodbye to the ship that has been a most satisfactory home for the last 11 weeks. But as you say goodbye you realise that it is the people that really count. We have obviously said goodbye to many people over these last months already; patients and crew, but there are those that have become special to us in different ways. Hopefully some of those people we will be able to stay in touch with, but some perhaps not. But for all of those people, as we leave we will know and always be thankful to those that have made a difference to our journey and we will be blessed to think of those who we have had the opportunity to make a difference to theirs too.
So like many things we finish on mixed emotions: We look forward to getting home to seeing family and friends again and re-establishing life but we will also be a little bit sad for the goodbyes we have had to make and wondering who we will meet and have the joy to share a little bit of life with again.
