Cake any/everyone?

Galley tour

Finally Alice has found a way to make enough cake for everyone! Looks like the hat even fits ;-) (Although she would definitely not want to do a 3am start every morning which is what our kind hearted baker does). All the bread is baked on board, along with rolls, cakes etc.

We had an impromptu galley tour (after our engine room tour - more on that later) and could see the many areas for food preparation and cooking for up to about 4,000 meals per day. It is a hot and tough place to work, I cleaned the toilets in the galley twice a day last week and concluded it was also the noisiest place on the ship; the music was very loud! But the food is good so that is a blessing, although we are only three weeks in so whether we will still be enjoying it in eight weeks time remains to be seen.

So yes we are three weeks in (can't believe it, feels like much longer ago that we set off from home). I am aware that I haven't said much about my work yet. I will, soon, what it is I am doing and also what it is like doing it...
